Summary of Learning Style
Diana, Princess of Wales
For Princess Diana an idea had value if it felt right, and this formed the basis of her decision making, She was a person for whom thinking and feeling were inexorably intertwined. Her mind absorbed information from the environment, like a sponge takes up fluid, and filtered it through her emotions. In response, she would initiate ideas having to do with caring and nurturing.
Hers was a highly visual mind which learned most easily through pictures, colours, videos and graphics. When presented with just words or concepts, her mind would shape the image behind them and would take in that picture. She would frequently seem to know things without being told, as her mind would fill in the details from only a few sketch lines.
Quotes from Diana’s 1995 interview on Panorama with Martin Bashir:
- "I’d like to be an ambassador for this country."
- "I’m not a political animal, but I think the biggest disease this world suffers from in this day and age is the disease of people feeling unloved, and I know that I can give love for a minute, for half an hour, for a day, for a month, but I can give – I’m very happy to do that, and I want to do that."
- "I think the British people need someone in public life to give affection, to make them feel important, to support them…"
